How do I crimp a hydraulic hose?
Cut the hose square, clean the bore, skive the cover if the hose needs it, mark the insertion depth and crimp with the right die to the table diameter; then check the mark and measure the crimp diameter with calipers.
How do I measure hose crimp diameter?
Crimp diameter is the outer diameter of the ferrule after crimping. Put calipers on the flat part of the ferrule, off the ridges, at two opposite points. The target comes from the fitting maker’s table.

How is a male end (“taklan”) formed on a pipe end?
The pipe-end press applies high pressure to the pipe end and shapes the metal to the die, forming a male end; the pipe then joins another pipe or a fitting more easily and securely.
Why is a hose press machine needed?
By crimping the fitting on the hose end correctly it makes the connection secure and leak-tight, repeats the same precision on every crimp and is faster than manual methods.
